Conducted pioneering research and development on early stent graft technologies at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the United States. Served on advisory boards for leading medical device companies, including Cook Medical, W. L. Gore & Associates, and Terumo, contributing to the development of a wide range of stent graft technologies.
Successfully commercialized a medical device startup in the United States as both an inventor and founding member.

Kentaro Shima
Brings extensive experience across sales, business planning, finance, investor relations (IR), and business development, gained through roles at Shionogi & Co., Ltd., Oncolys BioPharma Inc., and a leading Japanese CDMO. Specializes in the healthcare sector, leading the development and execution of business strategies and fundraising initiatives from planning through implementation.
Previously worked at a Japanese consulting firm, advising publicly listed companies on key management issues, including mid-term business planning, shareholder activism response, capital strategy, and ESG strategy.

Satoshi Shimizu
Brings 32 years of experience in the medical device industry with Canon Inc. and Canon USA, where he led the development of innovative medical imaging systems, including X-ray imaging systems and retinal fundus cameras.
Contributed to the successful commercialization of groundbreaking technologies, including the world's first ImageChecker® computer-aided detection (CAD) system for breast cancer screening and digital mobile X-ray systems.
At Sanamedi Inc., led product development for a scoliosis diagnostic system and the RIBS Stent Graft System.

Terumitsu Hasebe

M.D., Ph.D. in Medicine, Ph.D. in Engineering
Founded the Hasebe Research Group, a medical-engineering collaboration team at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University. While practicing as a physician, he earned a Ph.D. in Engineering and has been actively involved in medical device development in collaboration with various medical device manufacturers.
As one example of his work in medical device development, he was responsible for all preclinical studies required for regulatory approval of Biomedical Solutions’ cerebral thrombus retrieval stent, which was launched in 2019 and continues to be recognized as a device that helps save many patients.
In his most recent project, his team is developing the world’s first peripheral vascular stent delivery system for below-the-knee applications.

In 2012, he founded the Japan Medical Device Development Organization, the predecessor of Sanamedi Inc., with the mission of accelerating the development and commercialization of innovative medical technologies.
